Argentina ~week 47

This week was a busy week, but we were able to get some stuff done still.
Tuesday we were just looking for some people to teach in the morning until district meeting time. After district meeting we went to our investigator Hilda and just answered some of her questions. Then we met with our ward mission leader.
Wednesday we had to get up really early because I had trasmites, which is basically paperwork for the visa and stuff. Apparently they lost a bunch of peoples paperwork during the mission split and a lot of people have to start all over, oh well. I got to go to capital and get fingerprinted and we saw some pretty cool stuff. Then we went to the stake center in Berazategui to see the worldwide missionary broadcast. Unfortunately the church's satellite was to old to work with it, and there was no internet to stream it, so we'll probably see it this week. Then we met with Felisa again. She still wants to get baptized. We taught her the plan of salvation and it went good. She also invited us to an asado next thursday (like an argentine barbecue)
Thursday was pretty much looking for people all day. It was really hot.
Friday we went to meet with Felisa again. Her granddaughter came out and said she wasn't there, she was out of town, and that she doesn't want to listen to us anymore and she doesn't believe anything. I don't really believe that because she told us the other day she had a testimony of all this stuff. Also, alot of her family is baptized, but turned against the church. We taught Hilda the 10 commandments after, and she had some really good questions. then we met with our ward mission leader.
Saturday we kept looking for new investigators. We met with Daniel again and taught the plan of salvition. Also his wife listened too and liked it.
Sunday unfortunately none of our investigators went to church. Also our appointments cancelled on us. But we met with someone in our ward who gave to 2 referrals and wants to do visits with us alot.
Today we had zone activity and had pizza.
Here's a picture of Elder Orellana (my trainer), Me, Elder Rios (I trained him), Elder Pruner (I'm training him) and Elder Gastelo (being trained by Elder Rios). We're all in the same zone.
Anyways, have a great week everyone!

Argentina ~week 46

So this week I completed a year in the mission and my companion had his birthday. Besides that, not too much happened.
Monday after PDay we were walking around and a member told us he had someone for us to visit. He showed us the house, and introduced us and we had a pretty good lesson. The guy's name was Daniel, but his wife and kids refused to listen when we invited them. But he invited to come on Saturday to teach him again.
Tuesday morning we had zone meeting which went pretty well. A guy from the area 70 spoke about goals and what it takes to reach them. Then we had lunch, and a lesson with Hilda, an investigator who found us and told us the elders met with her before. We've taught her a few times, she always listens and has good questions, and keeps her commitments (except for going to church) but hopefully we can help her with that. After we met with our ward mission leader.
Wednesday morning we had to go early to lunch because we had interviews at 2. We had interviews with president and he talked to everyone about the importance of goals. We got back and the day was pretty much over.
Thursday morning we found two new investigators. We invited them to pray at the end, and they thanked God that we came, and asked that we could come again. Hopefully that goes well. We'll visit them again this week. We also visited Felisa, an old investigator who didn't get baptized before because she was living with a guy who didn't want to get married with her. But her family did, and now the guy died a few years ago so she wants to get baptized. She told us she already has a testimony of the restoration and everything. She invited us back on saturday.
Friday was my companions birthday. I was kind of annoying because nobody invited us over, but it's alright. We did weekly planning in the morning, and in the afternoon we met with Hilda again and met with the ward mission leader again. Then we went and got ice cream for his birthday.
Saturday was a crazy day. We were in the street almost all day looking for people. We found a drunk homeless guy who we gave a restoration pamphlet to during the week. He was actually reading it when we saw him. He told us he likes our religion, he just can't stop smoking and drinking. He also wants a book of mormon. Hopefully we can help him out with his problems. The rest of the day everyone that had invited us wasn't home.
Sunday we went to church. None of our investigators came, even though almost all said they would. Hopefully they have a real excuse and nothing bad happened. Then we were supposed to have ward council but bishop cancelled it again. He keeps doing that, and the ward hasn't had council for months. We want to bring up a few things so we can get more people to visit with us and things like that. Also, nobody ever invites us for lunch on sundays in this ward for some reason. So we had boiled potatoes. Also, my companion got sick so we were in the pension the rest of the day.
Today we had district activity and played soccer. I'll try to get the picture we took from someone else.
Anyways that's about all. I'll try to remember to take more pictures this week. Wednesday I have to go to the mission office in the morning for something with my Visa. Also we have a broadcast for all the missionaries that day. And next tuesday our whole zone is going to the temple!
Have a great week everyone!

Argentina ~week45

This week I will complete one year in my mission! It's crazy to think I've already been out that long.
This week was pretty good. On Tuesday morning we went to look for some less actives then in the afternoon we had district meeting. In the afternoon a lady came up to us and told us that before the elders were teaching her, and she wanted us to teach her more and invited us on friday.
Wednesday we did exchanges with the Assistants to the President. We visited a few people and found quite a few new potential investigators.
Thursday we met with a less active, and two old investigators families. We found a family where the kids are members but the parents aren't because they aren't married. Anyways they receive us very well, so we're working with them.
Friday we did weekly planning, had lunch with a family, we visited the lady we talked to on tuesday. She believes lot of weird things, but she is very interested in what we tell her. We also met with the ward mission leader.
Saturday We had lunch with the family I talked about Thursday. Then we had 3 appointments with investigators that got cancelled. We went to one and there was a kid outside. We talked to him and he said his parents who we went to talk with weren't there. We kept talking to him, then suddenly a girl runs out and throws a bucket of water on me. Apparently the kid was her brother and did the same to her right before and that's why he was outside. The girl went to get revenge and didn't see us and threw the bucket all over me. It was kinda funny though. That night we prepared our talks we were asked to give Sunday.
Sunday we went to church. None of our investigators went :(. We gave our talks and everything went good. We had a family night and contacted a few people.
Anyways, that's about all this week. Have a great time everyone!

Argentina ~week 44

So it's crazy to think I almost have a whole week in the mission already. This week was great, and I'm trying to get to know my new area.
On Tuesday, we visited an 18 year old kid in our ward who wants to go on a mission. After that, we had to go to training meeting, because I'm training my new companion. My old companion Elder Rios got his new companion, an Elder from Utah. After that we visited a family where a few people are active and the rest less active.
On Wednesday we spent pretty much the whole day looking for less actives and old investigators to teach. We found a lady named Norma who is a great investigator. She asked us if she could come to church and invited us to come over again.
Thursday we had District Meeting in the morning. Then we kept looking for people to teach. That night we had dinner with the Godoy family. We were allowed to stay out until 10:30 again. Then we stayed up until 12 watching the fireworks because we live right in front of a busy road. (https://www.google.com.ar/maps/@-34.7695734,-58.2454838,3a,37.1y,217.4h,89.77t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sk4Yg2TF4DmD2Xg65nympNw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656)
Friday we did weekly planning in the morning because we weren't allowed to leave until the afternoon because it was New Year's. Then we went to look for more people again.
Saturday again we went out looking for people to teach. We went to a house that was on our less active list. The invited us right in and were very nice. Apparently a few of the kids were baptized, but the parents not because they weren't married, but they want to get baptized. Then we kept looking for people.
Sunday we fasted. In the morning we went to church. Our church is confusing because it's outside of our area because we share a building with another ward. After church we went on the bus to get home. Then we realized we got on the bus going the wrong way, so it took like an hour to get home. We just kept looking for people to teach. We tried to contact all the recent converts. Then we broke our fast eating corn flakes because we didn't have anyone to eat with.
This morning we went to play soccer with our zone, and the went to Pizza Libre (a pizza buffet)
Anyways, this week was good. We have to keep looking for people to teach but everything's going great!
Have a great week everyone!
